According to Cruise Critic families have the following categories to choose from:

Best cruises for Romance:

1.-Windstar cruises: Their three intimate motor-sail-yatchs offer luxurious touches like fine dining, fine linens, L’occitane toiletries, personal service and  itineraries in the Caribbean and French Polynesia with plenty time in ports that allow honeymooners to have a great time discovering the marvels of each one.
Their three regular yachts (with no sails) offer itineraries in Panama Canal, Europe and Asia

2. - Paul Gauguin Cruises: They specialize in the idyllic South Pacific Islands such as Tahiti, Fiji, Cook Islands. They cruise all year around and are the favorite line for honeymooners, couples celebrating anniversaries or looking for a romantic escape. Their itineraries offer stops in remote islands with plenty time to lie in the tropical sun.

3.- Princess Cruises:  Well-known cruise line for the  Love Boat TV show, offers couples seeking romance, alfresco balcony dinners for two, several dinning venues for a date night and adults-only  sun decks with spa-like atmospheres.

Best for families with young kids:

1.- Disney Cruise Line: They offer nurseries for babies starting at 3 months old, themed play space for preschoolers and school-age kids; plenty Disney character interaction and cabins that cater to families with split baths ( with tubs), extra berths, room dividing curtain, child proof balcony locks.

2. - Carnival Cruise Line: Their kids program starts at 2 years old, plenty food options for kids, water slides and aqua parks. They also offer the interactive “Hasbro, the Game show”, “Seuss at the Sea” and some of the largest standard cabins in the industry for families.

3. - Royal Caribbean International: Another favorite line among families. This cruise line is a leader with innovative kid programming and expansive youth facilities. Their partnership with Dream Works brings the characters that the little ones love to parties, parades and photos.

Best for families with older kids:

Royal Caribbean International: Teens have rock climbing walls, on board surfing, DJ classes. Zip lines, shows, and teen’s clubs.

Celebrate the Holidays at Gaylord Texan Resort!

My husband and I were looking for a special gift for our 8 year old son and for all of us as family.
We live in the Dallas area and I had checked several options but the one that caught our attention was the Gaylord Texan because was nearby, (in Grapevine, TX) and due to the variety of kids activities.
We chose a package that included ICE tickets and a hotel stay which was cheaper than buying the tickets separately.

Picture

Upon our arrival on December 23th the hotel was crowded but everything flowed pretty well considering the date. Our check in was smooth and we received our room 1.5 hours later but we were able to drop our luggage in custody and enjoy the hotel while we waited.

Our room was located in the River Walk section, the view was to the parking lot (we didn’t choose any upgrade or balcony room which looks at the hotel grounds). It was a very quiet section and the room was pleasant and with very comfortable beds. The only thing I could tell was missing from a 5 star hotel is the make-up mirror in the bathroom.

Our dinner celebration was at Zeppole Coastal Italian restaurant in the hotel, you have to make reservations to go there since it is very popular and is hard to eat there without one.

My husband ordered Grilled chicken and he said it was delicious, all gourmet presentation, mine was a Cavatappi pasta with lobster and shrimp, real Italian flavors! To finish our great night we ordered the dessert called Tuscan lemon tart that was a great deal, we both loved it! If you have a sweet tooth like I do, I definitely recommend that you try this one!

My son was absolutely surprised that day, we told him that we were going out to eat, that we will go to some place out of our area, so when we arrived to check in at the hotel he was shocked in a good way. He loved the activity that is Build a Bear, he made his Tinsel (a stuffed blue rain deer) which put a great big smile on his face!

We also experienced ICE, the sculptures made with ice that have a different theme each year. It is a great experience for the whole family, just make sure that you bring your thick coat, your scarf, warm hat and gloves, it is 9 degrees there and you will really freeze to death if you are not prepared. The nativity scene was my favorite piece of this exhibition!

Our only son is growing too fast, this year for us Christmas was more about building memories together as a family, we never know what lies ahead but definitely we left the place with wonderful memories that will last over  time!

Happy Holidays!

4 things a Bellboy can do for you

Bellboys’ work is really important, they are a key part in the hotel functions; they probably are the ones who help us the most.

In big hotels bellboys are always recognizable, I recommend you to never give your luggage to anyone that isn’t properly identified. Back to our subject, if you don’t know how the bellboy can help you, here are 4 things that they can do for you.
 First
He can help you with any information about the hotel areas, with the location of the offices or any other hotel employee. So if you want to go somewhere or find someone, the bellboy can help you.
Second
If you are in a city you don’t know well, bellboys are well informed about the city and where everything is locates. They could also recommend you certain places that you need to visit.

Third
He is one of the best informed hotel employees about events going on in the city.

Fourth
Because they are the ones that give you the best impression of the hotel, they know the services, benefits and characteristics of the hotel by heart.

So the next time you go to a trip just ask the bellboy.

Discover Moon Palace with me!

6/2/2016

Highly recommend this hotel for pool lovers of all ages, is fantastic for celebrating milestones in the family like Graduations, Quinceañeras, Weddings, Honeymoons, etc. There is something for every age and the hotel is so big that you do not have the feeling on being in a crowded place. The food at the concert in the Moon Palace Arena was awesome, not a fan of La Gondola Italian restaurant, their food was average.

I was gladly surprise with Wi-Fi every where!! I was able to talk with my family and show them the hotel while I was walking from my room toward the beach and from the beach itself also! The service is already included with your package.

I arrived to Cancun airport on May 20th, 2016 and was received by Elite Transfer ( company that works only with Palace Resorts), they offered me a bottle of water or soda that was great since it was a hot and humid day.

My hotel Moon Palace was only 10 minutes from the airport and my room was in the Sunrise section of the hotel, room 4044 that is garden view but even with that I had an amazing view of the ocean.

My room had marble floors, indoor Jacuzzi, balcony with sitting chairs and a table. The bathroom had a great shower, make up mirror that light up, hair dryer and flat iron to fix my hair.

My minibar was fully stocked with several kinds of beers like Corona, Budweiser, and different sodas like Pepsi, Coca Cola, Seven Up, Canada Dry, Sparkling water, orange juice and apple juice. The bar had a James king whiskey, Bacardi Rum, Jose Cuervo Special Tequila, and Vodka.

This room was a concierge category located in the Toronja building.
The main attraction of this hotel for me is their pools, many of them so everybody can have their own space. Also they have a section that is called the Moon Palace Arena where they have their concerts with famous singers. I saw the concert of Starship and Alphaville that was awesome! You can buy your tickets online in webs like Ticket Masters.

The hotel has a buffet restaurant that is named Bugambilias that offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also have specialty restaurants like Fragata that offer sea food, Italian at La Gondola, Pan Asian in the Sunrise section, but they have several other options in the Nizuc and Grand section like Peruvian , Brazilian, Mexican restaurants

This hotel is the biggest all -inclusive in the Caribbean and each section is different from the other one. The Grand section is more sophisticated and elegant, with the feeling of being the adults only section.
Nizuc has also great pools and bars around them, have South American restaurants. Seems to be more for families with young kids.
Moon Palace is great for multi-generational travelers; there is a big playground for kids, teenagers lounge, bars and disco for adults, flow rider and more!

My biggest impression was the service, everybody doing their best to meet your needs; room service is exceptional, they are on time with your request.

I will always remember Chefs Reyes and Monforte from La Gondola for their special attention and service for me and my friends, our server Elizabeth, and in general all of them. Esmeralda from room service, the room cleaning team, our drivers, the guys on the pools and bars make our stay unforgettable!!

Room Tip: Choose rooms in the second level so you can have view of the beach, La Toronja building is quiet  and close to the main pool area.
