Destination Wedding Resorts offers wedding packages designed to cover every detail, from pre-wedding events to the wedding day celebration and honeymoon. Whether you're planning an intimate elopement or a large destination wedding with up to 100 guests, there's a package to meet all your needs.

Let's explore some examples of typical all-inclusive resort wedding packages and discuss important considerations.

NOTE: Each resort brand offers its own unique wedding packages and pricing. This blog provides a general overview to give you an idea of what wedding package options are available and the typical pricing you can expect for each package.

Most destination wedding resorts offer complimentary wedding packages. However, to qualify for these packages, you typically need to meet specific requirements, such as a minimum stay of three nights for a certain number of guests or rooms. For instance, booking a minimum of five rooms for three nights each might qualify you for the free wedding package.

It's crucial to understand the requirements for receiving your complimentary wedding package to avoid any surprises when finalizing your plans.
A knowledgeable destination wedding travel agent can assist you in organizing your wedding correctly to ensure you meet the criteria for the complimentary package.

In this example, you can enjoy a quality destination wedding with the option to add personal touches. The $10K destination package typically does not include essentials such as music and photography.

While the $10K package provides a comprehensive foundation, I still prefer the complimentary wedding package as a base to build upon. However, keep in mind that the total cost can exceed $10K once you add extra elements like a DJ or band, photography, bistro lighting, table centerpieces, dance floor, and music (or musicians) for events like a wine and cheese hour.
Now, let’s examine a deluxe wedding package for up to 50 guests.

Wedding Packages For 50-100 Guests: Price Range: $14,000-$30,000

Here is a breakdown of what would be included in this example Wedding Package:

An example of a destination wedding package for up to 50 people typically offers a complimentary night for you and your spouse when you celebrate your first anniversary at any resort within the same chain

Reviewing the inclusions of this package reveals additional elements such as a two-hour welcome cocktail party, hair and makeup services, and four hours with a standard DJ. For the appropriate couple, this package offers great value. However, I wouldn't suggest it for someone hosting 40 guests or for couples not interested in a welcome cocktail party, or perhaps preferring a live band over a DJ.

Commonly Asked Questions About Destination Wedding Packages:

Q1. “Can I substitute items”?
Answer: Most resorts typically do not permit substitutions (though it would be ideal if they did). Therefore, I recommend that most clients opt for a wedding package that includes everything they desire and supplement any additional preferences à la carte.

Q2. "Can I pay the difference if I prefer a band instead of a DJ?"
Answer: While some resorts may permit this, if not, choose a package that does not include DJ services.

Q3. "Is it possible to substitute the flowers?"
Answer: Typically, yes, but expect the price difference to be higher, not lower.

Q4. “Can I bring my own photographer/videographer?
Answer: Many resorts offer excellent professional photographers, but if you prefer to bring your own vendor, you may encounter an external vendor fee or a minimum stay requirement, often requiring at least three nights booked at the resort.

Here are a few additional tips regarding wedding packages:

  • Wedding packages often include complimentary venue options. For instance, sky wedding terraces typically have a venue rental fee of $1,500, while renting a restaurant at the resort might incur a $5,000 venue rental fee. Beach wedding venues may also have an additional setup charge. I'm here to help you navigate these specifics.

  • If a resort requires you to choose a package, inquire whether you can make changes before finalizing the contract. Generally, upgrades are permissible, but downgrades may not be allowed. Therefore, if there's a lower-cost wedding package available, opt for that in your contract.

  • Guest inclusions typically apply to those booked within the wedding group. Guests staying at a different resort or who booked outside the group may face a separate per-person rate. I recommend advising your guests to book within the wedding group to avoid unexpected charges.

Keep in mind: Each resort brand varies in pricing and package offerings. A successful destination wedding is always planned with these three steps.

1. Choose the best destination resort venue for your wedding.
2. Secure your wedding date and time.
3. Select the best wedding package that aligns closely with your preferences while excluding any elements you don't desire.

I strongly recommend partnering with a destination wedding travel agent. They can assist you in effortlessly selecting and planning a destination wedding that fulfills all your dreams, alleviating the stress of managing everything independently.

I have outlined various options available in destination wedding packages to help you discover the one that aligns perfectly with your vision and budget.

Remember, the ideal package will include the essentials while offering opportunities to incorporate personalized touches that reflect your unique style. Take your time, ask the necessary questions, and you'll be on track to planning the wedding you've always dreamed of.
